For those that want to take advantage of the massive sales, a workaround might be to buy them but not apply the codes to the account. This means being organized enough to keep the codes safely findable at whatever point in the future one wants to begin the expansion, and assumes that the codes don't go "stale" and can't be hacked/stolen. If you can only get one, get HoT first. If at all possible, save up a little money or beg/borrow it, and buy both at once for the discount. Storywise hot comes before pof. So if you wanna experience the story chronologically, buy hot, then unlock the living world season 3 story (ls3 for short) and then play pof. EoD is the expansion which if you don't buy it you won't miss any QoL things, like mounts or gliders. RN EoD fishing, skiffs, are both just for achievement and mats, jade bot is glorified revive orb, seige turtle is meh. Story not great. Maps are ok. Music is great. Maybe in future If they say some great drops in metas, you can buy it for that. If you're having so much performance issues that you're not having fun, then yeah, don't buy the expansion until either the engine is optimized better to run on your hardware, or you get hardware that can run the game well in it's current state.
